Iron overload in COPD
We're currently looking for talented scientists to join our innovative academic-style postdoc programme which spans a wide range of disciplines and aligns with one of our therapeutic areas. From our centre in Mölndal, Sweden you'll be in a global pharmaceutical environment, working alongside our scientists who are contributing to drug discovery and development and be part of a much larger active global post doc community. You will be encourgaed to pursue your own independent research in cutting edge laboratories, present at external meetings, and publish in leading journals. You will also be offered a comprehensive training programme.

This postdoc project will give you a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of science, closing the gap between genetic associations and functional understanding of fundamental biological disease drivers in COPD. You'll be given the opportunity to promote your scientific career by presenting breaking science at key conferences and publishing in high-impact journals.
Significant progress is being made across the Respiratory, Inflammation and Autoimmunity pipeline, which includes six programmes in Phase III or registration. In particular, we are leveraging biologics in severe asthma and COPD and developing several promising assets in inflammatory and autoimmune disease areas such as dermatology, gout, systemic lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.
As a Postdoctoral Scientist - Iron Overload in COPD, it's essential that you have:
Ph.D. or MD with an emphasis on cell biology and molecular pathology and genetics
A proven record of work, published in reputable scientific journals
Expertise with standard cell and molecular biology techniques, such as western blotting and ELISA, along with expertise in isolating and culturing human cells
Hands-on experience with immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization and real-time RT PCR
Experience with techniques for modulating the expression or activity of target proteins, using pharmacological tool compounds, siRNA, CRISPR/Cas9 and leni- or adenovirus mediated transduction
