As a Postdoctoral Scientist in structural and biophysics studies of multi -protein complexes it?s essential that you have:
A PhD in Protein Biophysics, Structural Biology or Biochemistry and experience in common biophysical methods or X-ray crystallography
The molecular biology and protein purification skills needed to produce high quality purified protein
Motivation and the ability to work independently and collaboratively using excellent communication skills
A strong background in protein purification, protein crystallization or biophysical methods
A relevant practical working background
The following skills and qualifications are desirable:
A proven record of work, published in reputable scientific journals
Experience of working with the following technologies: Protein Crystallisation, Small Angle X-ray Scattering, Electron Microscopy, Isothermal Titration Calorimetry and Surface Plasmon Resonance
As a Postdoctoral Scientist working on structural and biophysics studies of multi-protein complexes you will be:
Expressing and purifying protein from already optimized protocols
Crystallizing protein complexes, collecting data and solving crystal structures
Characterising protein-protein interactions using Isothermal Titration Calorimetry and Surface Plasmon Resonance
Studying protein complexes by small angle X-ray scattering and electron microscopy
Presenting results at scientific conferences and writing and publishing scientific papers in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals..
