The Product Realization Division (PR) within IPR at Mälardalen University is currently in a phase of extensive expansion demanding more PhD competent capacity for education, research and development within the production engineering field. The division has received national strategic research funding in production engineering together with KTH for long-term development of the extensive research initiative XPRES. The current PR project portfolio comprises a number of ongoing research projects where many of them focus on different areas within production development, one of them being PROLOC ? efficient localization of Production. In addition, the ongoing planning and operation of MITC, Mälardalen Industrial Technology Center, which is a joint venture together with industry in Mälardalen, has one focus area within production development approaching the development of methods and tools for enabling and making improvements in production development within manufacturing industry. The recent project receiving funding is the graduate school INNOFACTURE with 15 new industrial PhD students, starting in Q2 2012 focusing on research within industrialization and production system design.
Position description
Given the background described above, the objective of this new position is to contribute to the further development of the research within the area of production development, specifically focusing industrialization and production system design and with the overall objective of achieving scientific excellence in all we do. The position is placed and managed within the Division of Product Realization.
