JTH offers education at all levels. Contact with industry is an important part of our education in order to ensure that the education is anchored in reality, and to acquire practical experience.

Research and third-cycle education are targeted at Industrial product realisation in cooperation, especially applications for small and medium-sized enterprises. Research takes place in collaboration with companies, research institutes and other university colleges of technology, in common projects.



Within the research group Materials and Manufacturing there are good possibilities for personal development by participating in research projects mostly done in close co-operation with industry.

The research is interdisciplinary and includes materials science as well as modelling and simulation. The department today consists of 40 researchers and PhD students with background in material science, chemistry, mechanics and physics.

The research at the department for Materials and Manufacturing is focused on the areas of cast materials and casting processes forming a cutting-edge research group at Jönköping University and School of Engineering. A strong research area within the department is Foundry Technology dealing with ferrous alloys, solidification science of cast iron, modelling and simulation of casting processes, moulding materials and mould and core making technologies.

We are seeking one Post-Doctoral researcher having strong background in general foundry technology and with a special focus on moulding and coremaking processes to work in the Foundry Technology Research Group.

Job description

The work consists mainly of research in the topic of moulding materials, and involvement in research projects with close cooperation with industrial partners. and teaching, to a minor degree

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in the field of metalcasting/moulding materials. We expect the candidate to have a genuine interest and curiosity in the subject and ability to work both independently and in teams. We expect the candidate to show research maturity and scientific competence in the field of general foundry technology with at least two years of trackable research activity in the topic of moulding and coremaking methods and measurement design. We also expect the candidate to be fluent in English and proactive in research project application writing.

Information

Employment start from April 1st 2017 or after agreement. Tempory position for two years, full time (100%). Working condition is regulated in collective agreements.
