University West is looking for post doc in marine geodesy!
Role description
We are looking for a postdoctoral in the research area satellite altimetry to focus on modelling Moho Density Contrast using satellite altimetry observations in addition to seismic tomographic and the Earth's topographic data.

The tasks include automated classification of altimeter radar echoes (waveforms) on global scale, estimation of precise mean sea levels from raw measurements using improved retracking methods, and combination of different altimeter missions.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates applying for the post doc position should have a PhD degree in geodesy, geophysics, geodynamics, oceanography or related. The position is mainly for applicants who have achieved a PhD degree not more than three years before the application deadline.

The position also requires:

- Good command of the English language (speaking and writing).
- Personal capabilities necessary to fully carry out the duties of the appointment in collaboration with the rest of the group.

The following skills will be considered meritorious:

- Skills in signal processing, data analysis, mathematical and statistical model development.
- Ability for independent research as part of a team, shown interest in the presentation and publication of scientific results.
- Advanced computer literacy and programming skills, preferably in MATLAB.

Assessment criteria
Special importance will be given to scientific skills in the subject field. In addition, the degree of administrative proficiency will be assessed. Furthermore, the degree of skill in developing and leading activities at the university will be considered, as well as the ability to interact with the surrounding community and to inform about research and development work.

Terms of employment
The employment will be temporary.
