We are now looking for a Portfolio Controller to our Middle Office department. Middle Office's main responsibility is to monitor the compliance with the laws & regulations, prospectuses and investment guidelines for our investment funds and discretionary mandates. We use a pre- and post-trade compliance system to monitor the various rules and work closely with trading and compliance to resolve any issues or questions.
The team also monitors and files ownership disclosures and other regulatory filings with the local authorities in the countries where we are active. Other important responsibilities include counterparty evaluations, setting up counterparty agreements, review valuation decisions and other operational controls. The position is on permanent basis.
Job Description
• Monitoring and reporting of investment limitations for a number of East Capital products
• Disclosure control and execution of disclosures to relevant authorities and counterparties
• Assist with counterparty evaluations/agreements and control of counterparty risks
• Control and calculation of various risk measures
• Participate in valuation committee work
• Assistance with other operational controls
• System and data maintenance
• Ad hoc requests
Requirements
• Academic background
• 2 years of work experience within an Asset Management or Fund Company
• Knowledge of a variety of financial instruments and understanding of asset management processes
• Knowledge of Swedish and EU laws and guidelines related to investment funds is desirable
• Fluent in Swedish and English. Russian and/or other Eastern European language is a plus, but not a requirement
• MS Office, especially Excel. Experience of other systems and knowledge of programming languages is an advantage
