The role
Your main function as a Polymer Specialist is to provide material expertise in the design and development of products and new processes. This may include prototyping, pilot operations and process characterization to ensure the successful implementation of new product lines.
Your general activities include participation and presentation on conferences and trade shows. You will actively participate in projects related to the business and keep yourself up-to-date on the general market news, industry standards and latest technology in this area. The role includes leading and providing material expertise in the design and development of products and you will take part in failure investigations of products or components related to the material.
As a specialist you are expected to work for a continuous evolvement of the material and product. You shall provide facilitation and technical leadership as well as technical expertise on composites, polymers, additives and process equipment, including material testing. You shall also keep a sharp eye on process improvements and cost savings.
Location: Stora Enso Head Office in Hyltebruk, Sweden.
Your background
We are looking for someone with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical way. You are a developer with the ability for hands-on, able to communicate with people on different levels. You are an analytical and problem solving person with project management skills and ability to conduct experiments and operate various analytical testing equipment such as DSC, TGA, FT-IR and MFI. Strong presentation skills are required.
Chemical engineering, preferably with focus on polymers, is required and we would prefer if you have experience from a similar role but it is not a requirement.
As a person you are a team player with a positive attitude who works proactively and are able to take initiatives. You have a pragmatic view on things and have no problem solving day to day issues as well as making steps to reach larger goals.
