hela Sverige The position comes under the policy unit which has two overall duties. The first of these consists of advocacy work in important areas of development policy, work which is carried out on the basis of established positions and guidelines. The other involves providing thematic quality assurance and contributing to capacity building in the international work done by the Church of Sweden.
Work duties: You have international experience working with HIV issues and are responsible for developing strategies and coordinating business environment analysis as well as laying the foundation for advocacy work to be done. Duties include developing, in particular, theological reflection and pastoral practice in conjunction with strategic partner churches and international ecumenical organisations. As a Policy Advisor you also actively participate in relevant networks at the Swedish, Nordic and international level. The job involves a lot of overseas travel and periods of work in southern Africa.
Qualifications: You have academic qualifications in theology and social science. We expect you to be experienced in working at the international level in the area of HIV and theology. Work experience in HIV and theology within global ecumenical networks and the LGBT network is an advantage, as is experience of working internationally with HIV and theology issues in relation to the UN. Experience of working at the international level outside Sweden is essential. Your being ordained is an advantage. You have an excellent command of English; ideally it will be your first language. We expect you to share the values held by the Church of Sweden.
