The sewing machine industry is a global industry that is experiencing renewed growth. In developed markets, growth rates are projected to outpace GDP growth, according to Global Industry Analysts, Inc., the leading industry data source. Growth in these markets is driven by the Millennial generation that is increasingly attracted to personalization, crafts and self-expression (e.g., cosplay). In developing markets, the industry is expected to grow at 6.7% annually, fueled by the emerging middle class and the "need to sew" segment that uses sewing machines to support the household.
In 2018, SVP was acquired by Ares Management (www.aresmgmt.com), a leading asset manager with $125B+ assets under management. The R&D Software and Electronics department of SVP Worldwide is responsible for designing and implementing software, electronics and UX design for sewing and embroidery machines.
Publiceringsdatum2019-11-18ArbetsuppgifterThe main responsibility of this role is to act as product configuration coordinator for all SVP:s products. This role also contains an ownership of Windchill PDM Link.
You will also be responsible for:
• Configuration management of all products within SVP; starting with sewing machines and accessories and further on include brand extensions and others.
• Overall responsibility as system owner of Windchill PDM Link.
• Work with project management to create realistic resource allocation of all R&D staff to support new and existing product
• Creates all SKU, Item Number, for all of our products and brands. Sewing Machines, Sewing & Embroidery Machines, Embrioidery Machines, Serger / Overlock Machines, Notions, Garment & Care.
• Define and implement product lists for all OEM Machines into Windchill PDM Link.
• Secure connection between sewing machines and spare parts in Windchill PDM Link.
• Coordinate change management towards OEM suppliers.
ProfilTo fit in the role as PLM Engineer you have at least a BSC in Mechanical Engineering or other technical degree. You speak English fluent both written and spoken.
You have deep knowledge in PDM-system, product knowledge and strategic vision regarding product configuration. You show strong global leadership in all matters related to configuration and Windchill PDM Link, e.g. from strategic to detailed perspective.
