The Platform Lead in Digital Health will be a member of the AstraZeneca Science and Enabling Units Engineering team and based in Gothenburg. You will be leading the team and activities initiated in this area. Our engineering team is being expanded and we are looking for problem solvers who take accountability for their work and like to collaborate. About this Role
The Digital Health Platform consists of several solutions where we are looking at harmonizing both backend and frontend solutions in to a service catalogue of solutions. This is a combination of COTS and bespoke parts. Connected devices and SaaMD (Software as a Medical Device) will be a crucial part of the solutions.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to take accountability and lead in this space as we implement our new platform. You will be expected to be engaged and have opinions and ideas.
The Digital Health Platform Lead will be accountable for all aspects of managing initiatives for implementation of change and new demand.
You will also be accountable for roadmaps, technology standards, technical design and delivery against the platform and associated resource capacity, and communication to leadership and stakeholders. You will be the expert in how this technology / platform is implemented and consumed in the business. In close collaboration with the architecture and capability teams you ensure that the solutions are up to date.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Digital Health Platform Lead will oversee all area of technical delivery of a team of on-shore and off-shore technical resources and will have a mix of direct, matrixed, and 3rd party contract resources. In this role, you will influence on a global level, typically leading global teams based in multiple countries. You will:
* Assess business and technical requirements in line with IT strategy and business priorities as well as leads high-level investigations or analysis aligned to the strategy.
* Lead a team of software engineers aligned to the Digital Health solutions.
* Design complex software solutions in a sustainable and manageable way using existing and new platforms, in close collaboration with enterprise and solution architecture.
* Gain a deep understanding of business requirements and develops strategy to align technical solutions.
* Define and adheres to software engineering & platform engineering practices.
* Oversee estimation of effort and duration for complex solutions.
* Contribute as a technology advisor identifying Information Technology systems implications and providing recommendations to support business objectives.
* Be responsible for implementing strategies covering testing, release, and documentation for applicable platforms in conjunction with the DevOps team.
* Lead, Coach, and Mentor your team members.
Essential Requirements
* Significant software engineering background and capabilities, 5+ years.
* Strong understanding of modern cloud architectures and offerings.
* Proven experience of leading and growing Software Engineering teams.
* Significant experience of using Agile approaches at scale, across projects and products.
* Significant experience of leading senior teams with a demonstrable track record of motivational and achievement-oriented leadership.
* Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives.
* Experience of driving and leading innovative solutions.
Desirable Requirements
* Advanced degree in a Software Engineering related field.
* Higher level business qualification.
* Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working.
* Self-driven and reliable.
* Eager to learn.
