• be accountable for development and implementation of the platform roadmap (building of data extracts, APIs, decomposing platform functionality and its eventual decommissioning)
• be responsible for operating and maintaining a highly reliable and stable platform
• balance the need to implement the platform roadmap, ensuring platform functionality and at the same time satisfy the on-going needs of the Product development teams
• take ownership for performance management of all platform related infrastructure
• manage stakeholders across teams and functions to reach agreement on conflicting priorities
• ensure assigned teams understand the overall direction, vision, delivery process and responsibilities for any given initiative
• drive consistency in practice, process, toolset and architecture across the platform management competence chapter
• lead, coach and develop members of the platform are function, promoting best practice in technical architecture and continually benchmarking against industry standards
• work across initiatives within Ingka Group, steering solutions towards the correct architecture
You have knowledge of:
• API/Micro services
• modern data architecture, data extract mechanisms, functional decomposition and business rules engines
• technology specifically those used for development of the platform areas for which they are responsible
• agile development practices
• cloud and information technology trends and directions
• disciplines of enterprise digital development and technical architecture
• cost drivers in systems delivery and operations and the commercial consequences of the technical decisions made
• IKEAs corporate identity, core values and vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people
You have experience in/the capability to:
• Implement API/Micro services architectures
• run and operate core systems/platforms
• demonstration a combination of a highly-technical engineering leader as well as an effective people manager
• manage stakeholder relations, with the need to manage potentially multiple Product Manager needs at the same time
• think and act strategically but also to operate and implement change tactically when required, dealing effectively with ambiguity and managing changing priorities
• with credibility, lead and guide, both in-house and third party teams
• successfully troubleshoot, analyse, and solve problems
• lead in a IKEA value driven environment, especially independent leadership, by using sound judgements to make timely and effective decisions
• lead in times of change and uncertainty, with the business goals and co-workers in focus
• actively acquire new knowledge and skills and champion new methods and processes to improve performance
• understand the complexity of IKEA business and the role of technology as an integrated part of the business
The main objective is to lead the development and implementation of a platform roadmap of the Technology Office, thereby maintaining a critical part of the technology backbone that provides a high quality technology service to the IKEA business. This includes scaling down and phasing out legacy platforms over time.
Moreover, to manage teams as well as to lead, coach and develop members of the platform area function promote the best practice in technical architecture for IKEA.
