Position Description
Do you want to participate in Volvo Group journey to take the modular architecture to the next level? There is now an opportunity for you to join our CAST organization as a Platform Architect and help us to define the future modular architecture for our electrical vehicles.

Platform and Architecture team is looking for a new employee with passion and energy to help us to lead the development of the platform and vehicle architectures for all brands and ranges.
The team consists of skilled platform and geometrical architects who study different architectural alternatives in preparation for new technologies and future needs, such as: zero emission vehicles, new emission legislations and new vehicle configurations.
Role Description
The Platform Architect - E-mobility is overall accountable to develop, define and maintain the modular architecture on complete vehicle level in line with the product roadmaps.
This is done by breaking down the vehicle and technology roadmaps, studying the technical alternatives and make the necessary updates to the vehicle architecture.
We also expect Platform Architect to:
Lead and perform architectural studies and determine the needed updates to the architecture to meet future needs.
Lead and coordinate execution of global platform development for defined projects and streams.
Define platform prerequisites for product updates within the Volvo group.
Work closely with technology and vehicle streams to define CAST strategies in each area.
Define interfaces and boundary conditions in streams and projects.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has a drive and energy, and who can manage and lead technical development and balance different viewpoints.
You are used to work in complex areas with several systems and product owners interacting.
You are analytical and structured as you will work with a complex product diversity and you need to identify and structure complex dependencies.
A Platform Architect is a senior position where the following knowledge and experience is needed:
* Good understanding of customer applications and requirements.
* Good understanding of the different functions and their systems in the vehicles.
* Good vehicle knowledge including the product defining requirements and relations on complete vehicle or sub-vehicle area level.
* You have insight in the current vehicle architecture and how it has evolved over time with its strengths and weaknesses.
* Expertise in area of modular architecture, ability to coach and provide knowledge transfer.
* Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
* A Bachelor's degree within engineering.
