Plant Manager
The Falköping plant is operating as a part of the Cylinder Division Europe, Falköping. The plant is fully organised to design, process and manufacture customised, hydraulic actuators for a wide range of applications, like surface and underground mining, marine, defence systems, forestry and construction.
Reporting directly to the Roundline Business Unite Manager, the successful individual will be responsible
for the following:
• Leading the local team by example; establishing performance standards aligned to achieve the Parker WIN Strategy key performance indicators and the Division Strategy Deployment Targets. Clearly develop, communicate and frequently review the personal targets of the local team.
• Supporting the cylinder division team by preparing weekly management reviews, monthly operating forecasts and the annual budgeting processes.
• Development and enhancement of design-, process- and manufacturing methods.
• Implementation and development of the Parker Lean System, in line with the lean journey, by building and developing a change culture to ensure the continuous improvement of people, processes and systems; ensuring continuous improvement in operational productivity, reducing inventory, reducing leadtime and managing appropriate capital expenditure.
• Ensuring performance visual controls and management reviews (for safety, quality, standard work,...) are in place and up to date.
• Develop and maintain a problem solving culture and control the efficiency of corrective actions and contineous improvements.
• Delivery of premier customer service; ensuring that production schedules are achieved whilst adhering to quality and cost targets.
• Management of resource planning and production scheduling in line with sales and delivery targets.
• Ensuring manpower and resources are effectively deployed within the operation.
• Empower the local team member's and develop their skills and knowledge appropriate to their roles/potential.
• Responsibility for the safety and well being of all team members, visitors and contractors within the total working environment
• Ensure all manufacturing and production procedures, processes and documentations are in system compliance with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14.000 and Parker Hannifin policy and its customers' quality systems.
Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering or manufacturing discipline, the candidate should have at least 5 years experience in a similar role or environment. This results orientated individual should be capable of operating in a customer focused, often pressurised environment, with a proven track record of success achieved in manufacturing plant operations. Fluency in English is essential.
