We are looking for two transmission planning engineers with experience in transmission and microwave networkplanning within telecom industry.If you are considering the challenge of an engineer position in the Managed Services this may be the opportunity you've been looking for. Main responsibilities:
• HLD/LLD planning of transmission networks upon expansion or customer request according to planning and implementation processes and guidelines.
• HLD/LLD planning of TDM/IP Microwave links according to customer requests and planning and implementation processes and guidelines or as a part of customer projects.
• Transmission planning and design for new sites, site moves or capacity upgrades.
• Frequency planning.
• Apply for permit for microwave links towards PTS (Post och telestyrelsen)
• Planning of other access networks/access equipment for the backbone transmission network (access switches, SDH-nodes, CWDM-systems) including leased lines/fiber in order to meet customer demands
• Transmission equipment lay out plan, space requirements, fiber termination racks lay outs, fiber patch terminals lay outs for all transmission nodes.
• Material Management: Order and keep track of material based on the project/implementation scope. Follow up with logistics partner to ensure timely material availability for transmission Equipment
• Capacity management and performance management of the transmission network.
• Update of relevant documentation.
• Preparation for implementation of new network elements/nodes/systems.
• Interaction with customer technical interfaces.
• material availability for transmission Equipment
• Support operations in troubleshooting and fault finding in the transmission network
• Use of best-practice planning, design, optimization, O&M and reporting techniques.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years working experience in Telecommunications with at least 3 years involved in Transport Technologies/Transmission and Microwave networks.
• Previous experience in working with Fiber Networks/ Optics (DWDM and CWDM) required.
• Previously experience in working with Microwave, Fiber Networks/Optics (CWDM, SDH) or/and IP/Ethernet is desired.
• Previous experience in SDH or/and IP/Ethernet is desired.
• Knowledge of leased line market procedures in Sweden is qualifying.
• Industry training in transport technologies
• Familiar with basic IP, VLAN, etc. TCP/IP knowledge.
• Relevant Communications Engineering / Computer Science Degree
• Fluency in English, Swedish is preferred
