As Research and Development Engineer, you will get the privilege to create new concepts and see it develop from idea to complete product. You will get a central position, where your broad knowledge in future product technology and sense for process parameters and material quality are a key to our success. You will work with electrical, thermal and mechanical design and develop our current and future high voltage products. Besides from being the world's leading manufacturer of bushings, we have other product areas in sight.
You will work in projects and collaborate with our business units and research centers in Sweden and abroad. The dynamic environment means that you will find great opportunities to become a specialist within the area.
The requirements: You hold at least a Master of Engineering degree. As you will work with development of bushings in AC and DC, it is required that you have good knowledge in gas, liquid and solid insulation material. You must also have experience in calculation and simulation together with skills in manufacturing and testing. You need to be proficient in English and Swedish - written and spoken alike. It is qualifying if you are experienced within design and development of high voltage products, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
Experience from development methodology is also positive. Your broad technical interest is useful when you generate pioneering solutions. On a personal level, you are a driven and result oriented team player.
You will be part of ABB Components in Ludvika. We have manufactured transformer components like tap changers and bushings since the beginning of the 20th century and we are ABB's primary manufacturer of the products. The business unit is also responsible for research and development of these products and is located in Ludvika, ABB's world center for high voltage technology. We have seen an enormous development during the last decade and envision a positive future. The development of material is key for future solutions and gives us opportunities to create new concepts.
