The position is based at our main refinery located in Nynäshamn, 40 minutes south of Stockholm.
Tasks and responsibilities:
As a Pilot Plant Engineer, you will be part of the Process Technology Department and included in a group with both Specialists Process Technology and Pilot Plant Engineers. At the Pilot plant, there are bench scale hydrotreaters, microreactors and pilot distillation units, that are utilized at process development studies for production of both the present naphthenic specialty products and possible new products from different feedstocks. While performing the studies, a team of a Pilot Plant Engineer and a Specialist work together, contributing with different skills.
The main daily work tasks involve operation and urgent troubleshooting for all lab-scale units as well as chemical analyses on samples collected during the development studies. Each Pilot Plant Engineer has the main responsibility for one type of laboratory equipment. You will be responsible for the distillation units including regular maintenance, spare parts, continuous improvement of operations as well as SOP's and risk assessments for activities related to the equipment. Safety is important at Nynas and you are expected to work in a safe manner according to valid instructions.
Education, Experience and Personal characteristics:
• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Instrumentation & Metrology Engineer, or other relevant training/experience from process industry
• Fluent English, both spoken and written is required, while speaking Swedish is a merit
• Drivers license (B)
We are looking for a person with a strong technical interest that likes practical laboratory work. We value quality mindedness, good organizational skills, and a high level of technical expertise. You are a dedicated team player with great interpersonal and communication skills. A strong safety mindset and a natural ability to identify potential risks related to the laboratory work, is also required.
