We are looking to strengthen our capabilities in physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling of the lymphatic system to support our development of inhaled and orally administered drugs for the treatment of respiratory, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

The Role
You have a background in engineering, mathematics or pharmaceutics with experience of physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling of drugs, proteins or particles in the lymphatic system. By using your experience you will be developing our understanding of how to design drugs to target the lymphatic system. You will also be providing project teams with a general understanding of the relationships between molecular drug properties, pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) responses as well making quantitative predictions of drug efficacy and safety in human populations.
Major responsibilities:
Develop and apply PBPK models for the lymphatic system.
Mathematically link estimated drug exposure in various compartments of the body to measured endpoints of drug efficacy in preclinical studies
Predict drug efficacy and safety in patient populations along with recommendations of appropriate route of drug delivery, dose and dosing interval
Work collaboratively with other functions as needed (e.g. bio-scientists and other modelling functions)
Prepare presentations related to the above for internal governance bodies
Lead external (academic) collaborations
Disseminate scientific achievements through conference attendance and preparation of research papers
Essential Requirements:
PhD or equivalent level of experience of PBPK modelling of the lymphatic system.
Strong mathematical skills and specialist user of some modelling and simulation software such as NONMEM, WinNonlin/Phoenix, Matlab
Strong skills in scientific writing and oral presentation
