IFM at Linköping University has a long history of cross disciplinary research in the areas of materials science, electronics, chemistry and biology. The Computational Physics research group is very actively taking part in these activities and we are now looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and creative PhD Student to develop models for the understanding of all the electronic processes (exciton transfer, charge separation, charge transfer,) occurring in a bulk-hetero junction solar cell. For this purpose, the candidate will use a combination of Molecular Dynamics simulations, ab initio and semi-empirical methods, and also Monte-Carlo simulations.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, the candidate must be qualified to enter the PhD training program. A solid background in computational physics and/or chemistry is required and experience of Molecular Mechanics and Molecular Dynamics (MM/MD) simulations and/or Monte-Carlo simulations would be a plus. Programming skills are also required (Python).
The appointee is expected to have the ability to work in close collaboration with other researchers. Strong communication skills in verbal and written English are required.
