Position description
We are offering a PhD student position in dependable deep learning for safety-critical embedded systems, within the SafeDeep project. This is a collaborative project between MDH and Saab Avionics funded by VINNOVA.
This PhD student position will focus on mitigation techniques for physical and systematic errors of deep neural networks in both hardware and software and for adversarial effects which can lead to system failures. The expected results are design methodologies and fault tolerant architectures for airborne safety-critical applications using neural networks.
As a PhD student, you will spend a minimum of 80% of your time on research studies. The rest will be spent on educational and/or administrative duties. The temporary employment is valid for 5 years.
Qualifications
Only those who are or have been admitted to third-cycle courses and study programmes at a higher education may be appointed to doctoral studentships. For futher information see Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 1993:100).
Required qualifications:
• Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer and electrical engineering or equivalent
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Documented experience with deep learning
• Fault-tolerant design and hardware/software co-design are both of high merit.
• Experience with heterogeneous System Architectures, e.g. GPU and ZYNQ/UltraScale FPGAs is also of high merit
