Join our cutting-edge research to address rising privacy concerns and counter passive network attacks that exploit side-channels to expose sensitive personal information-even when using common privacy measures like HTTPS, VPN encryption, or Tor.
Project description
The project, AI in the Dark: Making Our Packet-Processing Systems More Secure aims to develop a groundbreaking approach to the ambitious challenge of creating machine learning techniques capable of "seeing in the dark"-classifying encrypted network traffic without access to network headers.
By leveraging advanced probabilistic models and deep learning, you will develop innovative methods for packet flow separation, enabling robust AI classification of packet sequences in realistic and complex network environments, even when network-layer information is concealed. The project's outcomes will support proactive countermeasures against emerging surveillance and censorship systems while unlocking new possibilities for traffic classification in high-performance packet-processing infrastructures.
