Hereby advertises up to two (2) positions as
PhD student in Statistics or Computer Science
formally based the Division of Statistics and Machine Learning at the Department of Computer and Information Science.
Duties
The research projects for the advertised positions will be in the area of statistical machine learning. This involves both fundamental research on the development of new machine learning models and computational algorithms, as well as applied research to demonstrate the usefulness of the new methodologies. Qualifications
A candidate should have a Master of Science or equivalent degree in a field that is relevant to the topic of the research project, or expect to obtain such a degree before the start date of the position.
Grounds for assessment
A candidate should also have good communication skills, excellent study results, and sufficient proficiency in oral and written English. A strong background in mathematics as well as programming skills are particularly valued. The project involves both theoretical and applied work.
