The PhD student will do research within automation of software testing. This includes method for test case prioritization and selection, in particular for highly configurable systems with many variants. Testing for non-functional properties, like execution time, is of particular interest, as well as the use of static program analysis techniques to aid the test case selection.

The work will take place within the recently granted European project Testomat - The Next Level of Test Automation, in collaboration with other project partners like RISE SICS, Ericsson, and Bombardier.

Only those who are or have been admitted to third-cycle courses and study programmes at a higher education may be appointed to doctoral studentships. For futher information see Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 1993:100).

To qualify as a PhD student, you should have a master's level degree or equivalent with a solid documented background in embedded systems, computer science or computer/software engineering. You may apply even if you have not completed your degree, but plan on doing so before the PhD student position starts.

The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English.

Assessment criteria:

• Analytical skills
• Documented subject knowledge of relevance to the area of research. This includes a strong background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and relevant Mathematics.
• Proficient English communication and writing skills
• Ability to work, both individually and in teams with researchers from both academia and industry
• Good programming skills

Previous industry experience is a merit, but not required.
