1 PhD student in the research education subject: Plant Cell Biology
The role of vesicular trafficking in control of cell elongation in Arabidopsis
The project is focused on understanding the role of the components of vesicular trafficking machinery in control of cell elongation in model plant Arabidopsis. Several Arabidopsis mutants with altered cell elongation responses have been identified and many of these e. g. recently described protein ECHIDNA (Gendre et al., 2011) are components of vesicular trafficking machinery. The work will involve characterisation of the mutants and identifying the function of the underlying genes and their role in various aspects of cell elongation.
Qualifications
Masters degree in Molecular biology or equivalent and experience of working with Arabidopsis and confocal microscopy is an advantage.

Those who met the requirements for general eligibility before July 1st, 2007, i.e. had completed a programme of higher education for at least 180 Higher education credits or the equivalent, will continue to do so until the end of 2015."
Selection among applicants meeting the requirements is made with reference to written application including curriculum vitae, copies of degrees and transcripts of academic records, one copy of the dissertation for masters or undergraduate degree, a list of at least two references familiar with the applicant's qualifications, certified knowledge of the English language and an interview.
