PhD student in Functional Electronic Materials
formally based at Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM)
Duties
The PhD student will carry out experimental scientific research on spin-dependent phenomena in novel semiconductor nanostructures and 2D materials, by optical, magneto-optical and magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The research topics include electron and nuclear spin dynamics for spintronics and quantum information processing, spin-dependent processes and defects in electronic, photonic and spintronic materials and nanostructures.
As a PhD student you will primarily devote yourself to your research. As a PhD student you are limited to work with education and administration up to 20 percent of full time.

The candidate must have a B.Sc degree or equivalent, majoring in physics. Prior experiences in optical and/or magneto-optical spectroscopy are favorably considered.
Qualified to PhD studentships are only those who are or have been admitted to graduate studies.
Appointment time
The appointment will be until further notice for a maximum of one year at a time. A doctoral student may not be employed during a period exceeding eight years. The total time of appointment must not exceed the equivalent of four years ' full time research training.
Starting date
By agreement.

The salary for PhD students is based on the department's salary scale.
