About the Division of Electric Power Engineering
The Division of Electric Power Engineering at the Department of Electrical Engineering conducts research across a broad range of electric power technologies, aiming to advance interdisciplinary research within the university and with external partners. Our research is organized into four main areas: electric power systems, power electronics, electric machines, and high-voltage engineering.
Our research is rooted in strong theoretical foundations, complemented by extensive experimental verification in both laboratories and real-world applications. We strive to expand knowledge on electrical systems for renewables, vehicles, buildings, and industrial applications. Recently, the division has participated in numerous projects on smart energy buildings, microgrids, and transmission system monitoring and protection, funded by the EU, Swedish power industry, and government agencies.
