WORK DESCRIPTION
As a doctoral student, we offer a fully financed full-time position.

Most of the working time will be devoted to doctoral studies (80%) which includes coursework and writing a doctoral thesis. The remaining 20% is allocated for teaching and administrative tasks. We seek candidates who have a strong wish to conduct high-quality academic scholarship, and an ambition to pursue an international or national research career.

The doctoral student will work on the research project "Manufactured products' information provision for light environments" (MAP4Light). MAP4Ligh is a research project founded by the Knowledge foundation and industrial partners involved in the project. Most of the research will be carried out at the department of Construction Engineering and Lighting Science, School of Engineering, but short periods in the partners companies might occur.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Appropriate information exchange between all parties involved in the construction and maintenance process is crucial for the correct application and integration of complex systems like luminaires and windows in a building. (Digital) information provision and exchange are among the issues that affect all parties involved in each stage of the building process, causing increased costs and time, and reducing the final product quality and sustainability. This research project will contribute to a more efficient information flow focusing on information exchange and advanced digital tools to achieve this goal. The project aims to investigate when, in the construction process, product information needs to be exchanged and who is the relevant information supplier (process modelling); what information is needed and how the information should be structured, standardized and delivered into a digitalized process (information modelling) and how, with the semantic web (SW) technologies and linked data (LD) technologies, to implement advanced digital solutions for information provision/exchange.

QUALIFICATION
As applicant you should have the equivalent of a master's level by the time the employment starts. You need to have fulfilled course requirements of at least 240 credit points (ECTS credits), 60 of which should be at the advanced level. You need to have a strong knowledge about the construction process and Building Information Management. Basics skills in programming are also needed.

You must be fluent in both written and spoken English to be eligible for the doctoral program. We seek candidates who have the ambition to pursue an international research career. You enjoy and are stimulated by working independently with great responsibility as well as in a team.

It is meritorious to have previous experience in teaching or research. Fluency in written and spoken Swedish is also meritorious. Bachelor, master's thesis or work experience within the project's subject, or have previous work experiences in Swedish companies active in the construction sector will be a merit.

Skills in semantic web (SW) technologies and linked data (LD) technologies will be taken into consideration.

EMPLOYMENT
The employment is limited in accordance with applicable collective agreement. Salary is also regulated in collective agreement.

Full time (100%), with start from 1 September 2019 or as agreed upon.
