Position description
The SSF-funded framework-project Serendipity is announcing four PhD-positions in cyber-security for safety-critical cyber-physical systems. This advertisement is for one of these positions.
In Serendipity, we will develop new technologies and a platform for safety-critical connected cyber-physical systems. Our work will leverage existing techniques for dependable systems and augment these with scalable security solutions for open and heterogeneous systems.
The student will work on a domain-specific language that can capture heterogeneous components, dynamic configuration and open environments of cyber-physical systems. The language will address adaptive features of the system. Formal analysis and verification techniques and tools will be developed to verify that safety and security requirements are valid for a given system configuration. Runtime verification techniques will be created to support automatic (re)configuration of systems during execution.
The position includes both the above mentioned disciplinary research and collaborative system-oriented research and implementation in the project's two demonstrators (one in avionics and one in autonomous vehicles). The selected applicant will be enrolled in our PhD-program and offered a paid position as PhD-student.
Qualifications
Only those who are or have been admitted to third-cycle courses and study programmes at a higher education may be appointed to doctoral studentships. For futher information see Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 1993:100).
To qualify as a PhD student, you should have a master's level degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent. Prior knowledge about cyber-physical systems, safety critical systems, and cyber security, is considered a merit. Additional knowledge in modeling and verification and programming in C++ or Java is also a merit.
