PhD student in Chemistry with specialization in protein science

Duties
A PhD position is available in the research group of Protein science. The project will employ an integrated structural biology approach, combining biochemical, biophysical and structural biology methods, to explore the evolutionary relationship and functional repurposing of human proteins acquired by picornaviruses.
As a PhD student you will primarily devote yourself to your research. As a PhD student you are limited devoted to work with education and administration up to 20 percent of full time.
Qualifications
The applicant should be highly motivated and hold a M.Sc. or comparable degree in in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related discipline and a strong interest in structure-function studies on proteins. Previous experience in protein biochemistry and biophysical techniques is desirable, and previous experience in structural biology techniques is of special merit.
Fluency in both written and spoken English, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills will be required.
Qualified to PhD studentships are only those who are or have been admitted to graduate studies.
Appointment time
The appointment will be until further notice for a maximum of one year at a time. A doctoral student may not be employed during a period exceeding eight years. The total time of appointment must not exceed the equivalent of four years ' full time research training.

By agreement.

The salary for PhD students is based on the department's salary scale.
