Mid Sweden University welcomes applications for the post of a
PhD Student in Chemical Engineering at the Department of natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics.

Subject area: This project concerns experimental studies in the area of environmental technology focused on chemical engineering aspects of different separation processes specifically in the area of water chemistry. Depending on the competence profile and interest of the candidate the project could be slightly altered.
The experimental work includes studies to increase the fundamental understanding of different separation techniques. One focus area is the cleaning of water from metals in industrial processes and to explore different synergetic effects, as collecting valuable and rare metals and other substances interfering in processes or substances valuable at the next production level. The project uses a variety of tools including unique in-house built equipment and modern analytical instruments.
Qualifications: The candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree of physical sciences and engineering, with a strong background in e.g. surface- and colloid chemistry, environmental analytical chemistry or general chemical engineering. Strong communication skills are another requirement. Prior work experience is considered to be an asset.
Place of work: The post is based in the city of Sundsvall, a university town located in the geographical centre of Sweden, offering comfortable student life and numerous nature attractions. It is also the home land of forest-product-related industries and their research centers.
Start date: Immediate.
