hela Sverige At the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, research and education is pursued within the areas of business administration, industrial engineering, resource recovery, civil engineering, and within the field of textiles: design, management, and engineering.
The University of Borås and the Sjuhärad region is a centre for design, development, and trade in the textile area. The Swedish School of Textiles is a part of the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, and is a centre for skills supply in the textile and fashion sector through education at all levels, ranging from first cycle (bachelor) to second cycle (master) and third cycle (doctoral) levels, in engineering, business, and management, and through research and close collaborations with the industry. The university's activities have undergone a strong development, with a significant number of students, establishing new master's programs, and extensive research in textile design, material technology, textile management, and smart textiles.
Within the area of textile and fashion research at University of Borås through the Swedish School of Textiles, research in textile value chain management (TVCM) focuses primarily on the examination and development of 'new' structures, models and forms, and their underlying variables and antecedents that would enable sustainable value generation in textile and fashion enterprises, industry, and for the environment and society at large.
The PhD program is financed as a combination of scholarship funding and doctoral employment.
Job description
The PhD position comprises 4 years of full-time study leading to a doctoral degree. The PhD research will be a part of a externally funded project, "Scaling-up circular business models in fashion retail value chains".
As a PhD student, you will be a part of an international project consortium and research environment, while increasing your knowledge within your research area and writing your doctoral dissertation. This includes opportunity for intellectual exchange and independent dissertation work. You will be expected to develop your own ideas and communicate results both orally and in writing, internally, nationally and internationally. In addition to courses and your own doctoral dissertation research, you will also be expected to participate in activities like seminars, workshops, and conferences.
