hela Sverige This PhD position belongs to the research area of applied intelligent systems with the focus on multi-sensor information fusion, applied artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The PhD student will work in the research project, Vehicle Driver Monitoring, VDM that aims to develop applications for safety systems to monitor drivers? mental state and provides counter measurements to prevent/reduce accidents. This project is supported by VINNOVA (Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems). The partners in the project are: Volvo Car Corporation (VCC) - Coordinator, The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) and Malardalen University. The employment may include collaboration and co-production with the partners and researchers from other universities/institutes/companies.
This project requires theoretical studies of state of the art knowledge in the area of physiological measurements and analysis, signal processing, and applied artificial intelligent. The work will also involve programming and statistical analyses. The PhD student is expected to develop independent ideas, and to communicate research results in oral and written form.
Only those who will be or has been admitted to a postgraduate education at a college may be employed as a graduate student. In general, refer to Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Act (SFS 1993:100). The requirement for admission to post graduate education is at least four years of university studies equivalent to a bachelor or master?s degree, depending on training country.
• Applicants should have a Master Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency and skills in writing and communicating in English.
• Good programming skills (Java, MatLab etc.)
• Knowledge/experiences in Signal Processing and Multi-Sensor Fusion.
• Professional experience and/or domain knowledge of physiological signal analysis in driver monitoring is an additional bonus.
