Our work takes place in cooperation with and in strategic agreements with companies, organisations and public authorities in the region.

Mälardalen University is recruiting a PhD student that will specialize in the field of adaptive autonomy for collaborating autonomous systems. The student will be working in the research project UNICORN.

The research will be conducted within the research profile DPAC. The aim of DPAC is to be leading in research targeting dependable platforms for autonomous systems and control. This will be accomplished through close collaboration and interaction between four research groups at MDH and 10 participating industrial companies. DPAC is hosted at Mälardalen University in the Embedded Systems (ES) research environment. ES is an internationally leading environment in embedded-systems research and hosts 14 research groups with over 100 researchers, within various aspects of development of embedded systems.

Position description
The student will work with theories and models of autonomy, autonomy adaptation, and agent architectures in order to develop a framework for collaboration for software agents, but targeting a wider application domain, i.e. robotics.

Qualifications
Only those who are or have been admitted to third-cycle courses and study programmes at a higher education may be appointed to doctoral studentships. For futher information see Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 1993:100).

A suitable background is a M.Sc. in computer science, preferable with some years of research and/or work experience in a relevant field.
