Our vision is a world where all patients and health professionals make wise therapeutic decisions in their use of medicines. Our mission is to support and promote patient safety through effective global pharmacovigilance practice. UMC is responsible for technical and operational support to the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring which is a worldwide collaboration of more than 150 countries that share the vision of safer and more effective use of medicines. UMC's office is located in Uppsala, Sweden. This is a full-time position starting with a probation period, with an option to permanent employment/recruitment after six months. Your new role Your main areas of responsibility will be to support national pharmacovigilance centers with capacity building efforts that focus on collecting, collating and analysing pharmacovigilance data. Latin America will be your focus region, but you will support all member countries of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring. Your tasks will also include developing training materials and conducting trainings in pharmacovigilance, assessing the needs of national pharmacovigilance centers, and collecting user experiences feedback. What you will need to succeed To be successful in this position, you need a university degree in medicine and a documented interest in public health. You should have experience in global pharmacovigilance. We believe that you recently have graduated from medical school, with a couple of years of experience matching our needs and are now interested pursuing an alternative career. You also need experience in advanced communication, preferably in a multi-national environment and from working with health care in the Latin American region. You should be fluent in English and Spanish (both oral and written), preferably with Spanish as your native language. Knowledge of Japanese or Swedish would also be an advantage. You are a team-player, who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, continuously adapting to changes in internal or external demands. You have excellent organisational and coordination skills and are keen to work in a multi-cultural environment. You are attracted by working for a non-profit foundation.
