hela Sverige The position is part of a European training network consisting of 15 PhD students enrolled at different universities and institutes across Europe called mCBEEs (see
www.mcbees.eu). The aim of mCBEEs is to perform research related to corrosion on microscale in applications linked to electronics, energy and biomaterials. Each PhD student will focus on a specific project but will interact with the others. Inside the consortium the students will attend common training activities and networking events.
Subject
The research subject for the Ph.D. student at RISE will be Reliability within Electrochemical Energy Conversion. It could cover applied research within batteries, fuel cells, electrolysis or super capacitors. The objective is to study and understand degradation mechanisms under application relevant conditions.
Job description
The position will be a four year employment contract at RISE with the goal to reach the PhD title. The candidate will be enrolled at the research school at the nearby Jönköping University that will give the degree. During the studies the candidate will be exchanged with partner universities in Spain, Turkey and Italy. The research is applied and will partly be done in cooperation with industry. Consequently, the candidate will cooperate and interact with several networks and partners during the studies.
Eligibility criteria
The training network is funded by the European Commission which has defined the following eligibility criteria:
* Academic exam of minimum 240 ECTS in engineering exam specialized in e.g. materials science, electrochemistry or similar.
* Academic exam not older than 4 years at the time of employment.
* You have not resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Sweden for more than 12 months in the last 3 years prior to their recruitment
The network programme intents to have a good balance between genders.
Description of competences
* Good English skills in conversation and writing.
* Laboratory experience in materials characterization and electrochemistry is preferred.
* Strong interest and ability to interact with people from different environments and cultures are expected.
