We look for a personal help to a 11 years old boy who needs support for structure, learning, training daily, before and after school. Your workplace will be in Stuvsta (Stockholm, Huddinge) where the boy lives with his family.
He is passionate about basketball, football, Ping-Pong, outdoor activities, in the fields and taking care of plants. He likes to go out with his family (parents, older sisters) and to listen to music.
The boy is diagnosed with the highest grade of ADHD. Medical investigations are being conducted to find out if he also suffers from dyslexia. He needs daily support to:
Start up his day, to arrive at school on time
Go to his extra-curricular and sport activities
Set routines and help with his homework.
One very important aspect with the wanted support is the preservation of the boy's linguistic environment, which in addition to the Swedish, the French and the English languages for academics, includes exclusive usage of the Ghomala language at home. Since there's no Ghomala course available here in Stockholm, knowledge of that language is essential for any new person in the boy's inner circle. These tongues are required for the boy to feel at ease and safe in delicate situations such as learning or doing homework's.
The requirement is full time (5 hours per day, 6 days a week: 35 hours a week). Food and accommodation will be provided. Minimal duration is for at least a year (until the boy completes his sixth grade). The boy will go back to one of his home countries, Canada in 2 years where he will be assisted by his grandmother and he will attend school in French.
Your profile as Assistant
Passionate about children, plenty of patience, like sport and outdoors activities, including promenades in the wood, fruits and plants hunting in the forest.
Outdoors activities are very important.
We insist on patience, as key wanted results is for the boy to lean to take care of himself, to become fully autonomous. You should be able to help him train daily on building up structure, organization in order to learn to take care of himself by himself.
Previous experience with coaching or teaching children is appreciated. But the most important is to be a happy, positive, patient, constructive person, even a role model for the boy.
Specific Requirements of the job
9th Grade or High School completed (Gynmnasium)
Experience with coaching young people in sport, outdoor activities
Background in sports or Interest in growing plants
Speaking Ghomala is required.
Daily tasks for the job
Help the boy with his morning routine to secure timely arrival in school
Help the boy to go his basketball training sessions on thrice a week afternoons or evenings
Help the boy attend his choir and piano sessions twice a week
Help the boy prepares for his little vegetables garden in the summer
Help the boy to attend his Swedish extra lessons twice a week
Help the boy with his language homework in English and French
Help the boy with his Mathematics and Sciences homework's in English
Speak exclusively Ghomala to the boy outsides of the homework sessions where French and in English are the languages of communication,
Most importantly: Train the boy to build a structure at home so that he eventually plans his activities and homework in weekdays and weekend
