Looking for a personal assistant for woman in the Boras area. Woman is disabled and confined to bed or wheelchair. She uses assistive breathing machines. Despite these challenges she is determined to lead a full life and to participate in her interests including: breeding endangered species of farm animals, small holding preservation and heritage, preservation of old homes, self sustainability, organic farming and gardening.
The person applying for this position must first be able to provide care for the complex medical and social needs of the PA user. An important part of the requirement is the ability to communicate with the PA user who has great difficulty speaking. She communicates primarily in English via AAC and ASL. Communication with medical professionals both locally and internationally requires English fluency both in everyday usage and with medical terminology. Experience in personal care, nursing or physical therapy as well as assisted breathing is necessary. (degree not required) 2 years nursing education and/or hospital experience
necessary. Phlebotomy experience a +, sterile technique, reverse isolation, ability to follow nutritional support plans, prevention of decubiti, exercise techniques, weight training, stretching, range of motion, muscle preservation and ability to managed medication schedules. Applicant must type 80 wpm. Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, computer use for social and data collection purposes.
In order to assist with the PA user's interests, experience with genetics and breeding of sub-fertile, limited gene pool, farm animals is essential, must have the ability to collect, process, and ship semen, must be able to artificially inseminate, evaluate semen samples, assess breeding cycles, formulate and evaluate a breeding plan. Need to have at least 7 years experience working with a sub-fertile breeding population.
Needs experience with viticulture, good working knowledge of organic agriculture, row crops, green house, and tree fruit.
As an personal assistant you will be working in unique conditions,with a person that is determined to live her life to the fullest. We are looking for a unique person with the knowledge stated here as an absolute must. You need to be reliable, flexible,discreet, with a sense of humor to fit in with the PA user and the rest of the staff. To avoid PA user stress, you need to relate very well to this unique individual. We would prefer a woman over 40 as your life experiences are important and it is required to assist the PA user with her personal hygiene among other things.
The employment is at minimum 60%,and we work within union requirements (Kommunal),but salary is based on personal suitability. Work hours are scheduled all around the clock, nights, weekends and holidays.
We require a flexible person that with a short notice can be on duty in case of an emergency.
We are working within the Independent Living philosophy and it is an absolute must that you understand and sympathize with that to ensure that the PA user can live a normal life and have a high quality of life despite her difficult situation.
Start date will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
