The arena

Global Product and Portfolio Strategy (GPPS) is the bridge between science and the marketplace. It ensures integration of research, development and commercial activities, providing a 360o view of our competitive and market environment. The team is small and collaborates woth all key markets across the globe.

The role

In addition to basic support, individual may support more Senior Managers and provide broader department support to a number of managers. Tasks may include project management of functional activities, representing the VP in communication/responses to different stakeholders, booking meetings, maintaining documentation, establishing systems and structures for day to day functioning of their responsibilities. In some instances may supervise others and allocate resources as necessary.

For example:
Accesses the email accounts of Senior Managers supported to schedule their appointments and answer or redirect routine enquiries from internal or external sources.
Accurately transcribes, types, formats, and proof reads a wide variety of material, using word processing, presentation, graphics and spreadsheet software.
Uses desk top publishing software to design more complex documents to support the work of the department they support
Performs other administrative tasks using independent judgement and discretion
Plans, organizes, and schedules own workload through system mainatenance so that all activities are completed accurately and on time

Minimum experience
Prior PA experience supporting senior leaders
Ability to follow processes
Good communication skills
Specialist knowledge in relation to administrative/business support activities in the relevant area
Experience of a variety of software/systems
Written and spoken communication skills
Able to undertake a full range of mathematical calculations/activities relevant to the area of work
A professional, confident, and proactive approach, with the ability to independently manage a diverse and demanding workload.
Strong organizational, forward-planning, team-working and stakeholder management skills with attention to detail
Track record of handling and resolving challenges quickly and efficiently, with flexibility to adapt to changing situations and priorities
Can create and maintain systems for efficiency for both self and others
