Electromobility Department is responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. This organization develop and drives the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing agile driven organization in place to shape the future!
The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.
We now recruiting a System Chief Engineer Energy Storage System
In this position, you will be part of the extended Management team at ESS section, an organization dedicated to technology as well as empowering and developing our employees. We always use customer satisfaction as the ultimate performance measurement.

Job Description
As System Chief Engineer, you will focus on the long term technical strategies within ESS in close collaboration with Electromobility and ESS teams but also with customers and stakeholders within other parts of the Volvo Community. As a Technical Leader you need to be technology driven, comfortable guiding others, customer oriented, supportive and functioning as a mentor and a good coach developing competence within the area. We believe you to have previous experience from being a technical leader and that you have several years of development of Energy Storage Systems.
To be able to fully enjoy the position you should be ambitious but prestige less and with excellent collaboration skills. Since the area is in an early phase, it is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment.

Qualifications
Long experience from development of Energy Storage Systems
Strong drive and high energy level with ability to contribute to create a high performing working culture
Communicative and with good influencing skills/mentoring mindset
Experience from systems engineering methodologies with the aim to build quality & reliability into our products
Education at M.Sc. level or similar
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
