Electromobility Department is responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. This organization develop and drives the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing agile driven organization in place to shape the future!
The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.
We now recruiting a Group Manager for the System Design & Architecture team
In this position, you will be part of the Management team at ESS section, an organization dedicated to technology as well as empowering and developing our employees. We always use customer satisfaction as the ultimate performance measurement.

Responsibilities / Main tasks
As Group Manager you are responsible for the development of the team and the long term technical strategies within your area. With us, you need to be an accessible Manager who leads and, with focus on individual development, forms a high performing team. You are responsible for ensuring that resources in short and long term are positioned correctly. You will create the conditions necessary for the team for them to be able to develop and to meet the requirements of quality, efficiency and shortened lead times. You like to develop new ways to work, and to develop cooperation with other functions within Electromobility but also Procurement and Design.
The team responsibilities includes architectural design (electrical, mechanical, thermal and functional) of the ESS, system dimensioning and system design specification, cell specification, leading AE and conceptual work cross the section. Collaboration with several functions within Electromobility as well as within ESS section is vital to design the best Energy Storage System possible.

A broad experience from mechatronic systems and systems engineering methodologies with the aim to build quality & reliability into our products is of great importance. Since the area is in an early phase, it is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment. Education at M.Sc. level or similar is required in this position.
