We are proud product owners for components, systems as well as complete powertrains. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of our products, from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase. The majority of our powertrain components are traditional combustion engines, after treatment systems, transmissions and axles however the importance of e-mobility components is growing every day.

We stand in front of significant challenges - where reducing transport emitted CO2 emissions is one of the biggest - and are now adapting to take this on by simplifying and empowering our organization and way of working. As an integrated part of this we have high expectations to reduce development lead-time and cost and driving innovation and employee engagement through our leaders leading technology and people.

In this position you will be part of an organization dedicated to technology as well as empowering and developing our employees. We always use customer satisfaction as the ultimate performance measurement.

The PE Sweden organization has the full responsibility for Platform Center Heavy Duty Engines, Transmission as well as Application Center Heavy Duty Europe. The organization takes the product ownership role and optimizes complete powertrain systems through usage of components tailored for each application.

In Base Engine, we are product owners of and develop Base Engine component and systems throughout the complete product life cycle. We drive the co-operation with other PE sites and cross-functionally to secure technical roadmaps and platform development trough CAST. We do simulations, Noise and Vibration Harshness (NVH), engine design and geometrical architecture for customers within Powertrain as well as for other Volvo functions.

Responsibilities / Main tasks
As Group Manager you lead a team of highly skilled engineers in the development of Crank & Power Cylinder Unit (PCU) systems throughout the entire product life cycle. You are the leader of both the technology and the people in your team.

The team, led by you, will develop technical roadmaps and engineering solutions that contribute to our engines being the most competitive on the market. You put equal emphasis on developing platform systems and components supporting our global application sites development as on the local application development. The team works in close collaboration cross-functionally within Volvo and with system development suppliers.

You have a structured approach, can quickly find common ground and solutions and you make your recommendations and decisions based on qualitative facts. You are an inspiring leader who cultivates and drives innovation and engagement through collaboration, team work and people development.
You are holding minimum a Master degree in Engineering
You have proven leadership experience as line manger
You are well experienced in the field of automotive powertrains, in particular in engine moving parts
You have worked in close co-operation with system development suppliers
Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English
