The majority of our powertrain components are traditional combustion engines, after treatment systems, transmissions and axles however the importance of e-mobility components is growing every day.

Responsibilities / Main tasks
The Sweden organization has the full worldwide Product platform responsibility for Heavy Duty Engines and transmission. It is as well responsible for the installation of Heavy duty powertrains in European Volvo Products.

PE Sweden is a large organization consisting of roughly 750 employees in Gothenburg and Malmö.

The Combustion department is in charge of the development of 3 systems of the complete engine and their integration: Fuel Injection Equipment system, Air and Gas system and Combustion system.

Our ambition is to deliver optimized and fully verified complete combustion systems (hardware components, control strategies and calibration) providing best in class solutions to the end customers when integrated in the complete powertrain.

We want to behave as true product owners over the complete product life cycle. This mean that in our daily operations close interaction within powertrain engineering and with other functions will be a necessity to be successful.

As Group Manager Combustion System Control for Combustion, you will have the responsibility for:
Develop and deliver software to control, do diagnosis and OBD of the FIE, Air and Gas and combustion systems and the complete engine to advanced engineering, products updates/projects and maintenance projects. The development done serves all our global products
Verify the software through simulation, real physical tests (engines or vehicles) or any other relevant methods.
Develop and maintain the required stakeholder's interfaces such as the global engineering network and X-functional network (Manufacturing, After market).
Develop methods and tools to secure quality assured software developments as well as knowledge capture.
Contribute to FIE, Air and Gas and Combustion system roadmaps providing control, diagnosis and OBD competences to the Systems team.

You are holding a Master of Science or equal in engineering.
You have a proven experience within Powertrain development, with experience from SW, function development and OBD
You are well experienced in operating in a global environment working with different sites, markets and brands.
You have experience of working with agile methods
Likes to work cross groups to secure that our SW and functions become an integrated part of our systems and is well designed and calibrated.
You enjoy balancing between strategic plans and short-term activities. You are comfortable in taking difficult decisions and standing up for the values of our company
Finding solutions and always try to improve both yourself and the team is a part of your DNA.
