Dina arbetsuppgifterSony Mobile has a substantial patent portfolio in one of the fastest moving and IP intensive technology areas of today. The portfolio is managed by the Global IPR & Licensing Department and Lund Patent Section is key driving force in that portfolio creation. We are now looking at strengthening the IPR team further through recruitment of one patent attorney to our office in Lund, Sweden. As a Patent Attorney you will be responsible for the full range of technical, legal and business advice with respect to the patent portfolio. The responsibilities include: Active role in the invention mining and review process. Managing the prosecution work of part of the patent portfolio by interaction with inventors and giving instructions to law firms worldwide. Patent portfolio analysis, portfolio management. IPR risk assessment. Support IPR litigations and IPR licensing matters. Infringement/validity analyses. Strategic decisions regarding filing, patent offers, patent sales. Coordinate joint IPR projects with other divisions within Sony Group Companies.
Utbildning och erfarenhetCompetences and experience required: Master's degree in computer science, wireless communications engineering, or information technology. Work experience in those technological fields prevails academic degree. At least 3 years of experience as a patent attorney or a patent engineer. European Patent Attorney (EPA) is considered a plus. Intercultural experience, especially exposure to East Asian culture, is considered as a plus. Team-oriented Fluent in written and spoken English. Experience of the patenting process of intellectual property rights before the European Patent Office and/or the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Patent invalidation. Patent Licensing. Claim chart writing. We also expect you to be a clear communicator, written and oral, as you will need to guide and influence internal and external stakeholders. With a personality that builds trust mixed with a strong dash of integrity you create a confident climate wherever you roam. Astute in risk management, you weigh up the pros and cons.
