The Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) is recruiting a Partnership Manager to work with the UNDP Shared Waters Partnership (SWP) program within SIWI?s thematic area of Transboundary Water Management. This is a new, manager-level position, reporting to the Director of the Transboundary Water Management Unit at SIWI. The position is for a maximum of 2 years.
As part of the SWP Coordination Unit, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with SWP?s current and future partners, and members of its strategic network. You will communicate the value of SWP to its partners and network, and identify opportunities to help increase its global impact.
Given the complex and sometimes sensitive nature of our work, it is critical that you have (or can quickly develop) a strong understanding of regional water cooperation and related implementation challenges. You will be working in an international context with high-level decision makers from diplomatic, multilateral, private, and bilateral organizations, specifically working in the developing world. Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills are therefore essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with colleagues, develop a partner engagement strategy
Manage its implementation
Act as the link between partners and the rest of the Coordination Unit
Contribute to overall programme evaluation and reporting
Coordinate partnership meetings and related events
relationships with current and potential partners.
Develop and support effective communication and reporting process
Coordinate partnership activities.

PERSONAL COMPETENCES
Able to engage and build relationships with a broad set of stakeholders
ability to learn and then leverage the structure, decision-making process
a confident public speaker and feels comfortable presenting and interfacing with high-level decision-makers.
Strong attention to detail and ability to operate in a complex, multi-variable system.
experience or a strong desire to work in an int environment.
Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to build authentic relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.
A strong team player who can also take initiative and move ahead with minimal instruction.
EXPERIENCE
An advanced university degree in a field relevant to transboundary water resources cooperation and/or natural resources conflict management.
At least 5 years of experience in a most of the following areas are required:
working with groups operating in the field of regional water management for economic growth and environmental sustainability
development theory, financial flows to development programs
working in an int context with diplomatic, multilateral, private, and bilateral organizations
working with various actors (governments, civil society, private sector) at different levels
Language skills
Excellent spoken, written, and presentation skills in English are required. Other languages are an advantage
Must be able to travel approx 30% of the work time
