Who are we?
Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S) is an entity within the Volvo Group with the mission to offer transport solutions never seen before. We accelerate the development, commercialization, and sales of autonomous transport solutions, focusing on defined segments for the on- and off-road space. How can you contribute?
As a Part Manager you will be responsible to deliver the right part in time to our solutions, to maintain and secure uptime of our vehicles. You will closely collaborate with the purchasing team to monitor the Spare Parts & Tools obsolescence. This involves gathering vital information from suppliers in addition to updating our databases. Simultaneously you will coordinate with Product Owners to find replacement solutions.
Your responsibility will also be to manage the complete supply chain. This task requires good communication skills as you will coordinate with both purchasing and manufacturing departments to ensure parts provisioning and with Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Trucks for base machine/vehicle parts provisioning. In addition, you will manage the order-to-deliver workflow, handled through our GTO-SML system. If the usual workflow doesn't meet the level of performance requested by the field, your problem-solving skills will help you as you need to propose a back-up solution.
In addition, you will:
Manage our stocks in different places (e.g., customer sites, dealers, central), by defining the stocks levels and monitor the parts consumption.
Deliver in time the Initial Stock Spare Parts list to ensure CIPs (Customer Implementation Project) readiness e.g., new components and coordination of possible connection to component stock for setting-up CIPs.
Collaborate with the Documentation department to update the Spare Parts & Tools catalog and identify and create useful Spare Parts kit, in dialogue with Maintainability/Technical Support Engineers.
Coordinate and report the financial information with Solutions managers and be proactive in the cost management.
Be the entry-point for any support request for Spare Parts & Tools.
And finally, contribute to the team's overall responsibilities, to the Life-Cycle work by proposing Reman Parts offers, Refurbishing process, e.g., for the Energy Storage System (ESS) and to the continuous improvement process by improving the order to delivery and spare part support processes
Our team is initially based in Sweden, both in Gothenburg and in Eskilstuna, and is part of the Transport Systems and Machines/Vehicles team in Volvo Autonomous Solutions' Technology organization.
This is a new role and responsibility area within our team, and we are excited to get you onboard! Your closest colleagues will be our fantastic technical support engineers who make sure that all technical issues are resolved effectively to ensure operation uptime, with maintained efficiency and technical compliance.
Who are you?
Since we don't know you yet, we are not exactly sure about who you are, but we believe you have a broad experience in a relevant field such and aftermarket or from the automotive industry. Having previous experience from Volvo Trucks and/or Volvo Construction Equipment is a merit.
As your daily work will consist of communication with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, we think you are an engaging communicator who can maintain excellent relationships also when finding solutions to pressing issues.
