Purpose
As an integral part of the Production strategy and process, the role of the packaging line employee is crucial to the quality of the products and the achievement of the quantitative daily production output. The success of this role heavily depends on the process oriented work flow, precision and capacity of the individual. The Packaging Line Employee is responsible from filling the snus pouches into the can, up to the sealing of the can, filling the cans into the outer boxes and make the product ready for sale. An important element of the daily task is the quality control at every stage of the packaging line where the employee is responsible to assure optimal product quality for his area
Packaging Line Responsibilities
Packaging line ?routine? has to be respected and followed at all times.
Packaging process guidelines have to be followed at all the times (what, how, when, etc).
As the Packaging Line Employee is part of a production line team it is important and expected that the employees rotating on a regular basis the station they work in, in order to increase the knowledge across each station.
The Packaging Line employee is measured not only as an individual but also as a member of a team and therefore it is expected to support other team members in order to achieve the set goals for the day, week, month.
Station 1 (filling the can)
The responsibility of station 1 is to accurate weighing the snus pouches to achieve the right quantity, visual control the pouches to eliminate product defects, filling the can and close it appropriately and visual control of the closed can to eliminate can defects.
Station 2 (labelling the can)
The responsibility of station 2, control the closed can for defects, clean the entire can from dust, apply the label according to the guidelines at the right position, make a last visual control
Station 3 (sealing the can)
The responsibility of station 3, visually control the received can for potential can and label defects, apply the sleeve and seal the can. Prepare it for station 4
Station 4 (packing outer and boxes)
This is a team responsibility whereby all in the same packaging line are supporting each other and visually control the finished product for potential defects, pack it into outer (12 cans per outer), label the outer, apply the seal sticker on the outer and finally pack the outer into boxes.
Relationship Results
Works closely with the Line Manager to ensure that production processes are followed and in line with direction given.
Develop effective peer working relationships across production.
