Operations Excellence (OE) is a global function within Service Market Logisitcs (SML) in Volvo Group Trucks Operations, responsible to develop todays and future ways of working and secure Value Chain excellence through global principles, standards and best practices across the different regions in the SML organization. OE leads the strategy work, innovation and change agenda with the aim to deliver uptime through sustainable logistics offers and value driven performance. OE makes sure that the operative regions work in a standardized, harmonized and effective way utilizing innovative solutions and best practices. OE also hosts the global Logistics Preparation & Packaging function that secures end-to-end preparedness within SML for product changes, drives SML requirements in sourcing and manages Packaging. In addition, OE is also the host function for SML VPS way of working.
To further improve customer satisfaction and support our strategic area Perform to Transform, SML has decided to increase the focus on Packaging and establish the new role "Packaging Excellence Leader".
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Packaging Excellence Leader, you will take the lead in establishing and developing the strategy for, and the way of working with Transport Packaging in SML. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders within SML and in other parts of the Volvo Group to ensure current and future operational excellence within the Packaging area.
You will be part of the Logistics Preparation & Packaging global team and report directly to the Director of Logistics Preparation & Packaging. We work together with all Truck brands and Business areas.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Take the lead in establishing and developing the strategy and ways of working with Transport Packaging within the complete Service Market Logistics value chain, from suppliers to Distributions Centers and dealers.
Define how to create and maintain Transport Packaging instructions, for new spare parts and throughout the life cycle of the part.
Develop the way of working in the Product Development process (DVP) to secure that SML's transport packaging requirements are fulfilled by awarded suppliers.
Drive development activities in the Packaging area to set new and improved ways of working, and to define and implement best practices.
Manage and maintain the SML assortment of one-way transport packaging material
Perform business intelligence analysis and keep external contacts within the packaging area to expand SML's know-how about packaging techniques, packaging materials and other development in the industry
Contribute with Packaging expertise to the rest of SML
Actively participate in and contribute to the Logistics Preparation & Packaging management team
Represent Logistics Preparation & Packaging in relevant stakeholder committees/forums

Experience from working with Packaging operations, design or development
Good understanding of the Service Market Business/Supply Chain Management area
Experience from driving projects or development activities
Ability to drive change and lead problem solving and continuous improvement activities applying the VPS Concept.
Excellent proficiency in the English language is required
University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics or related areas
The positions require occasional travelling and is located in Gothenburg, Sweden
