About the position
As a Packaging Engineer at BillerudKorsnäs, you will work closely with our Packaging Designers, Sales, Project Management and Implementation, to ensure packaging development meets client and internal requirements. Effectively apply your knowledge of packaging engineering and material science to guide material selection and packaging testing. You will participate in the development of equipment, methods, routines and research projects within our global Engineering team. Special focus is given to engineering solutions that are manufacturable by our global production network.
• Packaging engineering for a diverse array projects including retail, displays, protective, industrial and transport packaging
• Insert and cushioning solution engineering
• Comparative analysis of paper and packaging. Be able to communicate to a broad target group
• Proof of concept testing and materials specification
• Draft packaging material selection and evaluation process SOP and standard
• Perform technical investigations and literature studies within the application
• Create packaging analysis and optimized carton suites
• Provide technical support to project and sales teams on new business opportunities
• Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines efficiently
• Maintain testing lab equipment and best practices
• Share knowledge with the global team
• Frequent communication with design and project teams in China, Europe and US
• Conduct knowledge exchange and technical seminars with production network
• Support the Implementation Team with specifications and requirements for production
The position is located at our production unit in Gruvön, Grums. You will report to the Manager, Packaging Design & Engineering.
Job qualifications
To be an interesting candidate for this position you must have a Degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or related field. You have at least 3 years' experience in the field of packaging engineering. You have experience working with corrugated plant managers, machine operators, fulfillment agents, or other packaging stakeholders/end users. Finally, you have strong communication skills in both English and Swedish.

Our candidate has a commercial mindset as well as a self-motivating and driven personality. To succeed, you also need to be innovative, creative and have good communication skills. Finally you are structured with a good analytical ability.
