Parts Supply & Logistics (PS&L) is responsible for delivering the right parts and accessories in time to dealers and importers for Volvo Cars and our multi brand customers. We design distribution concepts and together with the markets implement and develop improvements. The responsibility covers the entire material flow from suppliers to retailers during the car's lifecycle.
What you will do
Our customer base is growing globally and so does the spare part volumes shipped around the world. To secure an uninterrupted supply to all our markets parts needs to be packed according to Volvo Cars requirements on product and transport packaging.
We are now seeking a Packaging Engineer wanting to join our growth journey. The role is part of Global Warehousing, Packaging & Quality Engineering, PS&L.
What you will bring
You enjoy great collaborations with colleagues and other involved parties to analyse different aspects of a situation. You possess a creative and open mind with the aim of finding new solutions to existing situations to accomplish different goals. A structured approach and working method are something natural for you in everyday work.
Ø Develop our packaging concepts, both on product and distribution level (transport packaging). Primary focus is expendable packaging.
Ø Specify packaging requirements in car projects and technical approvals.
Ø Participate in - or support - packaging improvement activities and projects.
Ø Improvements in running production (e.g., quality)
Ø Communication with part- and packaging suppliers as well as internal stakeholders (operations, warehouse engineers, purchasing)
Ø Establish and improve procedures and processes.
You have knowledge and prior experience within industrial packaging engineering, materials, and material handling / logistics. You have both a technical / analytic mind, and you possess the ability to create improvements together in teams.
