Customer Service is a unit within Volvo Cars, which is responsible for the global aftermarket business, distribution of original spare parts and accessories and service. Our ambition is to be the preferred provider of parts and service to our dealers and customers, and thus actively contribute to creating the best car ownership experience for our customers. To live up to this it is our aim to be a global Customer Service organization, where Parts, Service & Logistics work as a team together with marketing and sales companies. Our headquarters and central warehouse are located in Gothenburg with approximately 1,300 employees. The Logistics function in Customer Service is responsible for spare parts availability to Volvo Cars markets worldwide. The responsibility covers the entire material flow from suppliers to retailers. The business is built around a central warehouse in Gothenburg, as well as several warehouses around the world.
As Packaging Engineer you will have the responsibility to maintain and develop complete solutions for the protection of the product, ensure environmental profile and strengthen the perception of the brand. You are also responsible for the entire logistic chain from supplier to end customer. The work is conducted both in teams, with suppliers, internal stakeholders such as purchasing, procurement, spare parts processing and R&D, as well as singlehanded administrative work.
Main responsibilities
• Responsible for parts in a range of our spare part and accessory portfolio
• Maintaining and developing complete solutions for the protection of the product, ensuring environmental profile and strengthen the perception of the brand
• The responsibility is throughout the chain from supplier to end customer, this also include transport carrier solutions and multipack calculations
• Where necessary, develop new product packaging and in specific cases also load carriers
• Constant monitoring of the existing packaging line with goals to reduce/ streamline the range and reduce overall costs by packing and handling means for Customer Service
• Calculations on best total cost and quality for complete logistic flows both domestic and international
• Able to analyze complex logistic data and present results
Required qualifications
• Packaging Engineering degree or equivalent
• Documented skills and experience with LEAN
• Computer skills - MS Access, MS SharePoint, MS Office, Minitab
• Experience in Logistics
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Additional languages - e.g. Chinese, German, etc is meritorious
Personal qualities
• Ability to plan and organise work, primarily as a project leader but also single tasks
• Excellent interpersonal/communication- and social-skills
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Creative thinking, ability to "think outside the box"
• "Can do"-mentality
