Position Overview
Essity Professional Hygiene is currently searching for a Packaging Engineer. This role can be based at our North American Headquarters in Philadelphia or at our office in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The Packaging Engineer is responsible for managing critical projects related to pack design, specifications, testing and evaluation. This individual is responsible for implementation and ensuring the best mix of cost savings, manufacturability, enhanced product features, sustainability and quality are achieved.

Main Tasks
RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Accountable for the technical/structural package design for products and dispensers in PH assortment, according to overall business requirements
Lead review, modification and creation of pack designs that optimize converting, handing and logistics requirements
May lead mill/converting team focus on packaging optimization, collaborating with Product Management, Product Supply and Sourcing
Partner with Product Management and Global Hygiene Category to develop and deliver new pack design in line with strategic business objectives
Investigate new packaging techniques, technologies materials, processes, providing innovative and cost-effective structural solutions
Maintain knowledge of packaging suppliers and industry trends
Support the BU brand objectives

Minimum Qualifications
University Degree or equivalent
Five plus (5+) years' experience in packaging design and engineering
Relevant (ideally B2B) business understanding
Excellent English knowledge and preferably a second language
Experienced in effectively managing project, engaging cross functional and cross geographical stakeholders.
Travel: About 25% to domestic & international locations
